It is very useful to set oneself higher goals as a way to keep updated. This concept design exercise is a way to that, the opportunity to imagine things completely out of the box. In these pictures we can see once again how in JMA's projects it is very important for us to make the natural environment a relevant part of it. Nature is purposedly intertwined with the architecture of the residence.

In JMA's we have also collaborated with projects abroad. In this case the project was a renovation of a historic house in the town of Honda, Colombia. Honda's tropical weather allows this big historic residence to have a very generous exterior space that focuses on its central part, the pool. This is what we call 'napking sketch' in JMA's. It is a quick tool to represent an idea about a project. Even though the CAD technology helps a great deal the process of development in architecture projects the hand drawing will never be replaced by it.
One of the important characteristics in contemporary architecture is the customization of each project, which at the same time obeys to its purpose, whether it is a residential, commercial, cultural, govermental or simply recreational.
In architecture, pools alone are a huge category; even more in hot and sea lands like Florida. In this case the pool appears as the core of the builiding as a connection between the social and the kitchen area.
Tampa's market is now constantly growing and updating along with its architecture. This new contemporary residence design is another sample of this. Here we have the first approaches to what the facade looks like. From the bidimensional concept now we proceed develop the real character of all the interior spaces for this concept residence, where open spaces and translucence integrate its different environments.
Who wouldn't like to live or work in the place of his or her dreams. Here is a glance of our dream's work place - a nice blend between architecture and the natural environment.

In this post we want to share the first sketches and spacial approaches to another contemporary residence concept design. Architecture is all about little details that make spaces something we want to live in and enjoy. The composition of the structure with the surrounding environment, the mix of different materials and the light that travels through it are some of the elements that complete the experience of really living a space. A very interesting way to test one's abilities is to confront them with our peers'. In any market the competition is intended to challenge the actual situation, thus pushing forward towards excellency. This render is a sample of a job with which we participated in a render contest.

What Our Clients Are Saying"I have only worked with 5 Architects but I will say John McKenna and Daniel Currea are the most professional and have the highest level of communication. It is a pleasure not to chase after answers and when the city throws you a curve ball John and Daniel are right there with options to get you through!" - Mark Vega "We are a high-end custom Home Builder and Remodeler in Pinellas County. During a design meeting with a new client, Daniel Currea submitted a unique contemporary concept to the owner which they loved and resulted in Daniel taking the concept through the design phase and to fruition. The home is complex and spectacular. It's a truly world class design and the owner spared no expense in having us execute it precisely as designed and specified. It was a wonderful experience working with Daniel through the process. He was attentive and interested during all of our meetings and showed a care factor for his project which is rare in the industry. I've worked with many architects and Daniel has a penchant for amazing contemporary design and I look forward to working with him on many future projects where we can explore his creativity and talent together in creating more world class projects for our very special clientele." Hope we can do more business in the future!"-Maggie Shotwell_Benchmark Group I recently decided to construct a covered patio and pool bathroom. After talking with various companies, I decided to utilize the services of Daniel Currea. Daniel was very knowledgeable, professional, and attentive to my needs. He went out of his way to work with me to design and draft the building plans, plus he helped me find a contractor to execute said plans. Throughout the process he was available for any questions or clarifications I needed. I would highly recommend hiring Daniel. Jennifer Logan |
